I would say both. I mean why do you have to decide when you can have both? So did we. We tried the delicious delicately spiced sweet specialty of Sweden and enjoyed also a true Bavarian Weißwurstfrühstück.

So to start from the beginning, this was our first twinning in almost 2 years. So yeah, we were pretty excited about it. Having heard of the beauties of the city and some great things about people there, we decided to visit our IAESTE friends in Lund.
A small, but such a welcoming place, Lund looked like a smaller version of the magical Hogwarts we have all seen at Harry Poter. Being called a student city, it holds that charm mostly filled by the youth – chilled, funny, cheerful, smart, trendy.
Having the amazing LC Lund accompanying us to the great attractions of the city, cooking us real Swedish homemade food and showing us what the student life looks like, we felt like locals and got into their united student culture.
The top highlight though was the Valborg. Valborg is a festive celebration on 30th of April that marks the arrival of spring. Students gather in Stadsparken (the city park) for barbecues and drinks, in the build up to the traditional Valborg bonfire and singing of songs in the evening. It was a really special event, many of us will remember it for a long time.

Preparing them for the real Bavarian Day, we welcomed them with an interesting tour at our mostly beloved BMW World followed by a GRILL&CHILL at one of city’s top highlights for young people (Flaucher).
Saturday, as to celebrate Munich’s 860-birthday, we organized a beer tour at the best beer gardens, mixing it with an interesting tour around the city and some really tricky challenges you wouldn’t do unless you’re with your IAESTE gang.
Wanting to let them experience more of the Bavarian culture, we prepared them a real Bavarian Weißwurstfrühstück, with Brezn, Weißwurste and of course BEER.
Being a fan of transmitting and showing the IAESTE spirit, I saw this event as bringing together IAESTE friends from different places, cultures and even bringing us as an LC closer together.
