41st CEC Bosnia&Herzegovina

Sun, beach and sea is what defined this year’s Central European Convention (CEC), that was held in Neum, Bosnia and Herzegovina and was attended by 165 people from 14 countries.

The coast of Bosnia&Herzegovina – it’s really far away. So our expectations were little bit diverse. However, the hotel, good food, great fun and of course great people to meet have exceeded all expectations.

Friday began with a meeting of CER Representatives and CER Management Team members. The other participants took advantage of Friday’s sunny afternoon to socialize along the coast and discover Neum. After dinner and warm welcome the fun started at the masked ball. This was held with masks just as special as the CEC itself, as they were painted and designed by children and disabled people.

The second day was filled with with workshops, of which some were held in the open air. The weather was perfect, which made it possible to fully enjoy the beauty of the Bosnian costline. Through discussions and practical assignments, the participants of the workshops could exchange a lot of  knowledge, which will contribute to more efficient operation of IAESTE at national and international level. That evening was one that stands out of its own; the international evening where all countries represented their culture. There you had the opporotunity to feel a small fraction of each individual culture. The even greater magic of that night may have been in the fact  that all countires joined in one culture – IAESTE culture.

The following morning we sadly had to leave Neum, but we promised to see each other at the next CEC.

See you at the end of October at CEC in Slovenia!
